Philanthropist, realist, meaningful influencer

Networker in the food industry and nutrition sector, expert on the production and value chains of our food. And just one of many.

Originally, he came here to educate people about misconceptions in nutrition and to encourage individuals to think about them if necessary. But insular knowledge is not enough, and the willingness to discard internet knowledge is not always a given here.

The importance of nutrition could hardly be lower in our Western affluent society. Millions of people are unable to prepare their own meals. Food is becoming routine: it's ready to eat in the store, doesn't cost much and tastes monotonous over time. Prices and accept are plummeting and the media is fueling negative stereotypes. People complain about the food industry and continue to watch cooking shows.

It's time to put an end to cheaply produced food. The consumer has the power at the checkout. In our export-oriented nation, however, they must be financially capable of breaking through the cheap "bread and circuses" program. In order to maintain the diversity of choice, we must invest in our nutrition and education right now. The world's resources are finite, and in many countries more money is spent on good food than in Germany. The whole world is competing for the richly laid table that until recently what reserved for Western industrialized countries.

Nutrition must become a compulsory subject in every school. In addition to educating consumers, however, the most important starting point is to qualify decision-makers in the food trade. Even today, there are still many non-specialists who have to demonstrate their skills for a few years after completing their studies. There is hardly any other priority than to control competition through price. Why do we allow a few hundred amateurs to determine parts of the diet of 83 million people in Germany? The quality of products has long been decided in the retail trade. Through the price, and in the case of private labels so through concrete specifications of the ingredients. For the most part, the industry no longer has this sceptre in its hands.

Buy good quality and above all regional products, avoid the special offers from retailers as much as possible. Confront those around you with a healthier diet. Cook at home more often and go to good restaurants, reduce your consumption of highly processed foods.

This is the future. </p
