Don’t wear faster than you can sit. If you don’t get the horse braked in the trab, don’t practice with saddle until it works.
I also like to ride without saddle. But the horse I have at the moment for riding out, unfortunately, doesn’t let me sit in the trab. Even though I’ve done it well with countless other horses and ponies.
If you do not want to ruin the horse’s own or the horse’s back, there is nothing left to limit yourself to step-outs without a saddle and to apply a lot of patience. Just try it again and again for a few trits, and at once again to shower when it becomes uncomfortable. And we are not talking about hours and days, but months or even years, where you need quite a lot of patience.

It’s good that riding without a saddle is a lot of fun – as the horse is doing, it’s not that important, is it…?! Without saddle, MAL is ok on a well muscled horse, which still runs over the back so lets the rider sit and a rider who can. Otherwise, please use a well-fitted saddle – it is to keep the spine free of the horse and to distribute the rider weight flat. And if you’re on a horse, you don’t have to put it in pain, do you?

You can also simply test yourself – press yourself, or jmd others, the flat hand on your back and then 2 fingers. Surely you will notice what feels better…

We do not often ride with saddle

You contradict yourself…

She meant she didn’t ride often without a saddle, but she also corrected in another comment 😅

This question is so difficult to answer. You don’t want to kick anyone on your feet.

A horse, which is “hard” in the trab, doesn’t run over the back. It is definitely not let go then.

A horse, which is so uncomfortable to sit with saddle, will not be better without saddle, because without saddle you sit significantly more punctually and thus give the horse real pain.

If you have worked out the loneliness of the horse and of you with saddle (so sit unproblematically without disturbing the horse), then you can consider leaving the saddle for just 5 minutes. Before that, this is definitely pain for the horse – and I don’t want to tell you that this is fun.

Balance, balance, balance. Work with saddle. The horse riding above the back learn to ride.

I say yes, it is difficult to answer the question without putting the questioner on the slips.

Don’t clamp, don’t push, sit “simple”.

The discerning rider first learns a balanced seat with saddle and above all: on the seat longe, with someone who can. Someone who sees where you are. He sees where it’s stuck. At the same time, you work on the loneliness of the horse.

There is not Exercise XY as a tip.

Right Seats: balance and safety during riding (Cadmos Reiterpraxis) : Sommermeier, Ina G: Amazon.de: Books

If you’ve done this, you can also wear it without a saddle.

Sitting long to learn the right fit, horse riding over the back and build correct back muscle, then it is no longer a problem.

Then it doesn’t hurt the horse either. You may not be important, but fortunately, most riders.

Once alone, this does not dissolve – for real correction it needs a few months of seat length units. In addition to the gymnastics of the horse – as said: a horse that doesn’t let you sit and is “hard” doesn’t run over the back.

So, at Punkgirl’s seat length is legitimate, but in my answer it wasn’t helpful? Ah yes…

I’m riding without saddle but very much fun 🙂

you’re making your own pass far beyond the animal welfare. that’s outrageous.

the horse doesn’t find it funny if you’re banging on the unprotected swirl column and the unprotected ribbing.

there is a single tip for sitting without a saddle.

who cannot sit out, wears easily.

If you can’t do this without a mess, you have to learn it.

then it’s strange that you’re a bumpy trab without a mess.

you’re typing to sit out… you’re telling yourself that you can.

so learn easily without saddle.

If you want to ride without a saddle, I would recommend at least one riding pad (important without a stirrup).

Nevertheless, ride more with saddle than without so that the back does not damage in the long term 🙂

Extinguishing at the Longe:)

Most riding pads are mixed. Can only recommend the 360€ Signum Pad in person. Barefoot, Harry’s horse and co are garbage.

Who doesn’t sit without a saddle makes something wrong. If the horse has a hard trab, it has to be in correction.

In addition, it is not recommended to ride a horse without a saddle. It hurts the animal more than it does. Therefore: Buy saddle, have horse osteopathic examination, if necessary Correction and then take seat length.

We’re not in the light seat. This was a riding school where, whether big or small, everyone was plumbed on the back of the horses and could ride more or less well. Right riding has not been learned because it was departmental riding and nobody told you how to do it right without saddle

if you ride in a light seat, it doesn’t make much difference whether with or without a saddle ;))

I had riding lessons on Schulis without saddle for years. You were convinced that this is better for the horse. So much for that…

with us children of suitable size can ride the nightwheat ponys without saddle to the grazing. Of course, they have learned this before in the ride hour and they can only ride step by step.

reiter, who are still insecure, come to the guide train.

How are you going with a lightweight saddle. You can just sit out.
