I can’t guarantee it for the USA, but in Japan it worked very well with the DKB Visa card. Also consider that the DKB had comparatively very good conditions for daily money account.

Otherwise I find cash but underrated. I wouldn’t let it take me in any country in the world, at least a few times to have swung the national currency into some storeroom…

From a classmate who has also already made a semester abroad in the USA, I have learned that she would have used a credit card admitted to her parents with her name on it – something curious.

Partner card to a parent account benefits from their creditworthiness. I’d try to get for emergencies. So in addition to ner Debit so you have something with nem credit frame etc if something goes wrong.

DKB takes u18 I only think if a parent has an account of ü18. You can try, of course.

Since the stay is probably over an organization: is there no groups in which the participants can network or former exchange students share their experiences?

There is the best chance of good answers – there will also be other questions about the foreign year.

It’s all right, it’s a lot of times that’s happening to former participants. And otherwise really ask others what they found out and then look at these options more closely.

Of course, I feel the thumbs to find the likelihood here people with usable experiences, but I think they’re rather small.

So, actually, it’s best if you set up google pay. This goes virtually everywhere in the USA and can easily be connected to a bank credit card.

Please read the DKB opinions on TrustPilot. I was customer of the DKB and cannot recommend this bank! I have been customer of the Norisbank since 1994. (I had two accounts) With my Mastercard, I can withdraw money everywhere for free.

Other terms than everything for free? I don’t pay a cent for my bank account, all transactions, online banking and cards at Norisbank in Germany.
