Pay off a foreign credit card?
What happens if I live in the US, have a large debt on my credit card, can't pay it off, and then return to Germany? Can they track me and still demand that I pay off the credit card? Can they create a Schufa entry for me? Or will the account simply be closed?
It’s a really funny idea that you can get a high credit card limit in the (!) USA and get high debt. Creditworthiness is tested as carefully as here.
Debt can also be pursued internationally. The credit card company can pursue a court and that in both the USA and Germany.
Of course. This is credit card fraud and that can track you down to the USA, which is also correct.
So it may be that one day the cops are actually standing in front of the door!
First accumulate debt and then get out of the dust, that’s not good.
