Can temporary work be counted as an internship?

Hello,

Since I unfortunately didn't get into my desired program, I've now switched to studying Early Childhood Education. However, the prerequisites for this are that you have completed a one-year internship of at least 52 weeks or submit it by the third semester…

The problem is that I don't have such an internship, so I'm running out of time to provide proof.
Now I asked myself the question:
I've been working as a temporary waitress in a restaurant for just over a year now and am constantly in contact with people. In this regard, I thought that this time could perhaps be accepted as a prerequisite, i.e. as a replacement for an internship…?
Can anyone help me with this?
Kind regards, Lucy

Depends on the university.
