Diazepam and benzodiazepines were detected in various plants. At the first moment, I would have thought contaminated solvents or something… But apparently the occurrence of natural benzodiazepines is “multiplely occupied”.

Nevertheless, the development is purely synthetic:

The history of benzodiazepines originated in the 1950s. Leo Henryk Sternbach, then co-worker of the US-based research laboratories at the Hoffmann-La Roche company, discovered the calming effect of chlordiazepoxide. As so often, coincidence played a decisive role. After numerous attempts to structurally modify benzhexodiazines and thus to obtain substances having a novel pharmacological activity profile, pharmacologically tested one of the derivatives which Sternbach had found out because of its particularly beautiful crystal formation after a prolonged interruption of the research. The leading pharmacologe, Lowell Randall, soon reported calming, spasm-releasing and muscle-relaxing properties observed in the animal experiment on mice, paired with an amazingly large therapeutic width. This active profile is still characteristic for the entire class of substances. Chlorodiazepoxide was used under the trade name Librium® Launched in 1960 in the USA and Europe, the market was conquered in a short time. The second benzodiazepine developed by Sternbach: Diazepam (Valium)®).

Valium is made in the laboratory and has nothing to do with plants. It belongs to the group of benzodiazepines which are completely synthetic.

The potato synthesizes this in small amounts. But so small amounts that it doesn’t matter until one notices an effect, one would probably die from the greenware of the potato, because potato is not quite accurate, potato wort.

But in pharmacy, the stuff is naturally synthesized in the laboratory, how exactly can you read on a variety of pages: Ideally, on Wikipedia, an image with several synthesis steps is exactly this.

Hello.mal copied from the Inet

From which plant was Valium obtained?

The term valerian derives from the Latin word “valere”, which means “healthy”. Valerian roots, also known as “plant valium”, are the roots of the Valeriana officinalis plant. Valerian roots are used worldwide because of their soothing and hypnotic properties in insomnia or anxiety.

Haha more how to copy you can not 🤣

You’re constantly copying instead of writing from your own pen.

Observation during copying 😉

Valium, or diazepam, is synthesized and does not originate from a plant.

Valium, also known as diazepam, was developed for the first time in 1963 by the chemist Leo Sternbach. It belongs to the group of benzodiazepines and is prepared by chemical synthesis. There is no plant source for Valium, as it is an artificially produced drug.
