Audi Q3 2.0tfsi oil guzzler?
Greetings,
For me as a young guy it's now time for my first (self-paid) car, after driving my dad's old Clio for quite some time.
True to the motto: young, no idea about cars – but after training with a lot of money in the bank, I set my sights on a used Q3 from Audi.
Now I've picked out a few candidates, including one with the 2.0 TFSI specification (model years 2015 and 2016). My father, who knows a bit more about this and has read up on it, said that these 2.0 TFSI models in particular have an incredibly high oil consumption. As far as he knows, however, this only applies to models up to 2007.
Long story short:
Are the newer 2.0 TFSI models still the biggest oil guzzlers, or were they ever? Should such a detail have a huge impact on the purchase decision, or is oil consumption more of a secondary issue?
Also refers to the newer engines.
Finger away from 1.8/2.0 TFSI, sooner or later, the huge holes in the wallet due to the problems.
If you drive enough distance, get the 2.0TDI, which is very solid 🙂
Thanks to you, how about 1.4 TFSI, get your hands off?
I don’t drive enough long distance, unfortunately…
Also, this is the same engine as the 1.4TSI at VW.
they have chain problems and draw oil.
I’m honest with you, small engines of petrol are now the wrong choice at VAG.
Yes there is a diesel really not worth it at all
you will find something good, like 😎
So every day after work 20km road boarding, then worth it – easy
Fun aside – Will probably be hard to get to the point with my 5 min working path where I would drive enough for a diesel every day… Maybe 2-3 times a week 😂
I’ll have to look around for alternatives, but thank you again
So at least 20km easy route is the beginning for a diesel.
If you only have 10-15km, a diesel is not worth it.
Short distances should definitely be avoided with a diesel 🙂
So I’m getting the devil into the house with the affordable gasoline Audis uncompromisingly, good to know, thank you anyway
You don’t happen to have a rough plan on how much I should drive with the diesel that makes sense? 😅 Or should I rather open a new question?
Unfortunately, I don’t get on with the link, it doesn’t load.
the petrol drivers at Audi are actually all TFSI.
at VAG, there are separate vehicles without TSI, i.e. pure suctioners.
I really would leave my fingers off.
for a short time you can already drive them but in the long run it is nothing.
Moreover, the bad motors are well known, so even if they run perfectly, you will get rid of it hard again:)
Doofe question, however, what about the gasoline models where TSFI is not included?
When I get https://www.audi-zentrum-berlin-zehlendorf.audi/de.html?csref=sea:Phd-Germany:Berlin+22350+Brand:a:Google:google.de:p~p:fn~22350+Brand_Audi:c~p:id~652956985915&gclid=EA the models look there is always the option without TSFI.
Are they okay without this technology and accordingly despite petrol engines?
Sorry if I’m complicated, as I said, there’s almost 0 idea 😂
Either drive more or find out other models 😬
the 2.0TDI and the 2.0TDI Ultra are absolutely top.
That’s what breaks me like…
Then I will have to drive more so that the diesel is worth 🙃
You got it.
the engines are installed in different models.
Faith for nen RSQ3 is then unfortunately enough not thick 😂
Doesn’t Q2, A3 or A4 mean the yellow egg?
In your place, I would rather forget the Q3 as a gasoline 😅
the TFSI technique is unfortunately mainly dirt.
Can nen RSQ3 get the 5cylinder turbo is solid but costs a considerable extra charge.
If you want to drive small engines as a gasoline, you’re better off with MB or Japanese.
Do you have engines, etc., unfortunately, really 0 idea xD Is there a gasoline model that comes out without these problems at Q3? Diesel doesn’t really make sense for me…
Your father is right with his assessment.
