Audi A4 B6 petrol 2.0 – What problems?

Hello everyone. I was planning to buy a nice A4 with 170,000 km (2002 model) in two weeks, which would only cost me €4,200. I've already taken a look at it, and it looks very nice and drives quite well with its 131 hp.

I've read online that the hexagonal screw in the oil pump often wears out or gets clogged, so that it either runs through or stops working, which can lead to engine damage. I only know this from the 2.0 TFSI and the B8…can anyone tell me if this also applies to this one?

Can such problems occur? Because oil consumption usually increases at such high mileage, which usually indicates problems with the oil pump, if I understand correctly.

I would be very pleased to receive serious answers, as I really like the car.

Thanks in advance,

LG

I drove the B6 with the 131 Ps 2.0l for four years 62,000 km. At that time, however, got him as a new vehicle. From the very beginning, he used a good slice of oil.
The force development remained within limits, so that it wanted to be driven in the upper speed range.
If one assumes that the other driver has handled it as well, I would leave my fingers off a B6 with this engine with beyond 100,000 km. 170,000 would be an exclusion criterion for me, besides the very high price, also for any other car.

Mid-shock Attrappe for better sound?

If I read that on a 08/15 engine! And that’s illegal, and the cops put the car still when they catch you.

Get your hands off the bucket! For the money you get Honda Civic or Mazda 3 with more performance whose engines are more durable than those of the Audi!

Hello Daniel!

A typical VAG problem is the toothed belt, which needs to be changed too often than once too little ——> cracks are known, so you should go to “safe” and replace the belts rather before the interval.

control the maintenance papers; 4200 Euronen are a latte for an A4 gasoline from 2002 with not even a few kilometers —–> I think that you can expect the change for the price a maximum of one year ago, otherwise negotiate or stop. The A4 is a mass product, you can find good again and again.

Oh, okay, so that I mean a salted/high price: for 4200 Euronen the beautiful reindeer cars have to have 100-120000 Km, so the price is relatively high.

I do not actually know a high oil consumption from the two-liter, but gasoline with a higher running performance can still require more oil than indicated in the service booklet.

I already know him, had a B6 with this engine for 4 years.

No, the opposite is true!

Many tuners think that what you have invested yourself should be regained – but on the other hand, tuned cars are always more and more expensive because they do not like everyone.

Tuning parts press the price. Who knows what the previous owner has done, that is not registered or even admissible. I wouldn’t spend more than 1,500 for such a craft miracle.

  • Until 2004 he (the ALT) would like to have oil.
  • It is gas-resistant (refitting to LPG is possible).
  • Price is juicy.

I drove B5 and of course I looked at some B6. The 2.0 was somewhat unhappy to me because of the reviews and price expectations of the seller.

However, since it is now expected to cost even more than about 4 years ago -> severely.

Yeah, I know the prices on the used market are all messed up. There are no longer the “favourable snaps.” But I’ll find 4’200 a house number.

What did he do? KD done? Brakes, exhausts, etc. also tires new? Some information was already in the answer.

With the conversion of the exhaust system -> without fresh HU I would not take it!

And the LED backlights… If these are the great specimens where the water goes in, you don’t have much fun with…

In my opinion, 500 ml at 1’000 km are not really dramatic in running performance.
