Leave the Audi A3 8P air filter box open?
I have an A3 8P 1.6l with 75kW (102hp), and it comes standard with a mushroom-shaped air filter in a box. When I recently wanted to replace the filter, I took a test drive with the box open out of curiosity. Suddenly, the small 1.6 engine sounded much better and louder. Now to my question: Is it harmful to leave it open in the summer? I mean, the air is still filtered, since the filter is still inside; it's just the cover off the box. Pretty much all of my colleagues have a different opinion.

Es ist verboten, da das Geräuschverhalten unzulässig verändert wird und es ist sinnlos, weil die Karre nur noch die warme Luft aus dem Motorraum ansaugt.
Da die Luft immernoch gereinigt wird kannst du theoretisch den Deckel offen lassen. Nur so würde ich nicht in eine Polizeikontrolle fahren. Weil der Motor lauter ist und so den Herstellerbestimmungen nicht entspricht. Da liegt eine Anzeige im Ermessen des Beamten. Passt ihm deine Nase nicht wird es teuer.
