As you write, it’s an off-label use. None of these drugs have an authorisation to treat anxiety disorders. In the case of anxiety disorders, other medicines are generally used. Above all, antidepressants from the group of SSRI/SNRI, opipramol (tricyclic antidepressant) or also pregabalin (angular antiepileptic).

Aripiprazole is a drug from the group of atypical antipsychotics, which is approved for the treatment of schizophrenic psychosis and manic episodes. The use in depression is common, but takes place in the off-label use. Aripiprazole is not known for its anxious action. Aripiprazole acts, unlike the most common antipsychotics, not sedative but rather propulsive.

Quetiapine is also an atypical antipsychotic. Approved for the treatment of schizophrenic psychosis, bipolar disorders and as an additional medication in depression. It also has a strong sleep-promoting effect. Quetiapine is also not known for its anxious effect.

Depression and anxiety disorders frequently occur comorbid (together). As a rule, fears are seen “lower” or as a result of depression. It is quite possible that clinical fears are alleviated when aripiprazole or Quetiapin develops an antidepressive effect.

Ineffective both drugs against fears. I wouldn’t take antipsychotics anymore if I didn’t have a psychosis.
