Arguments for views in the Middle Ages and modern times?

Hello, for history class, I have to write a debate between the modern era and the Middle Ages, represented by Pope Innocent III and Michelangelo. So far, I've had a dialogue in which both sides describe their ways of thinking to each other… but they don't substantiate their statements, nor do they address each other's.

So now I need arguments that have proven the following ways of thinking in the respective time,

Middle Ages

  • Life for the afterlife
  • The value of a person results from his status at birth
  • Hope in God
  • Answers to (life questions) through faith
  • All works of man are sinful

Modern times

  • Living for this world
  • The value of a person results from the level of education
  • Hope for people
  • Answers to (life) questions through science
  • All human works are creative

When it comes to modern times, I can think of many arguments that make sense for myself, but not when it comes to the ways of thinking and views of the Middle Ages.

Hope someone can help me, thanks in advance 🙂

You cannot justify the thinking of the Middle Ages, as it is a complete falsehood. You try to make modern times better than the Middle Ages, which has neither hand nor foot.
