Trouble with your landlord or work?
Hey,
I have a real problem right now.
I've started a new job and am currently being trained as a special needs teacher on shift work. Unfortunately, we're experiencing a lot of sickness at the moment. So I've been working nonstop all week, somehow managing everything myself, and then just collapsed into bed exhausted in the evenings. I can't keep up with the housework anymore. In plain English, it's a mess. I have two days off this weekend and wanted to dedicate myself to that.
Unfortunately, my neighbor casually told me today that our heating meter was being read, and what was being replaced was between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. I did my best to clean up, but I had to work at 2:00 p.m. I then called work to see if I could come in a little later today, which unfortunately wasn't possible because we were so short-staffed. It would have been stupid to call in sick after that. I then called the heating company and put a note on the door:
Unfortunately, I had to go to work. I can't be there, so I called the company. I can reschedule for free. You can call me on my cell phone number.
I've been worried all day that my landlord just opened the door and saw the whole mess.
Is he legally allowed to do something like that? And what do I do if he's angry?
Thanks 🙂
If your landlord doesn’t, you just make a replacement date.
That would be a house peace break and punishable.
