Are these panic attacks?

Hello everyone ,

Over the past few months I've often been overcome by a feeling that I can't tell if it's a panic attack. I'm sitting on the couch or lying in bed and suddenly I feel like I have to do everything in an exaggerated rush. For example: I can't think clearly and I'm frantically searching for one. While gaming I've been switching back and forth between different things really quickly and hectically, even though I'm not under time pressure or on a mission or anything like that. I breathe frantically but I don't hyperventilate. In situations like this I try to consciously calm myself down, but it often doesn't work. I look frantically back and forth and I feel like there's a weight on my chest, but I can't complain of shortness of breath. It lasts for about 5 minutes and then it just stops. Every now and then I can lessen it by consciously breathing in and out, but it only stops completely on its own. I have to say that I'm currently dealing with a lot of mental issues. Not in the "I'm hurting myself" sense, but rather I no longer have the strength to cope with certain things because so much is going on. Perhaps someone can tell me what this could be, or if it just seems like it, and if it is some kind of panic attack, what kind?

Yes, that does sound like a panic attackā€¦ I don't think there are specific types! It can be triggered by:

Depression, unprocessed trauma, stress, various emotional problems, dissociation, derealization, circulatory problems, iron deficiency, social phobia, exaggerated perception, etc.

The best thing to do is go to a psychotherapist and get help!
