Are there important requirements that must be met when starting a small flooring business?

Hello dear team, I started and completed my painting and varnishing apprenticeship in 2017.

Now the time has come for me to start a small business on the side.

Since my profession requires a master craftsman's certificate, the only option left for me is to start a small flooring business.

Since I work in a renovation company and laying floors is part of my everyday life, this would be my consideration.

I wanted to ask you if there are any other important requirements, such as the number of years of journeyman experience or anything else.

I understand that the maximum amount that can be earned is €22,000.

Do you perhaps know more than I do what I absolutely need to have in order to start a small flooring business?

Unfortunately, the internet doesn't really make me any smarter and just overwhelms me.

Thank you in advance and I wish all readers a nice day.

Hello, Mark.

As far as I know always a master's duty, regardless of whether it is a business with or without Small entrepreneurs scheme.

You should be with someone who has a master.

Do you happen to live in NRW? I know someone who might be looking for a partner. 🙏

These are two different regulations as far as I look. Once this is a masterless craft, you can earn a million a year. You can also make a little bit more than flooring, for example, constructions and wood protection or something.

It's also to consider whether you could not fall under the old scale scheme, then you could also open a real painter's business.

The other thing is a tax treatment there you could make yourself smart at a start-up seminar at the Chamber of Crafts or IHK
