Preliminary values are positions which have already been booked but whose effect is shifted in time. The booking is therefore effective only at a later time and then changes the account balance, for example.

For account extracts, it is usually seen in another line and is often displayed by a date in the future.

So you can already see what the future account balance is in the case of pre-marked values.
