Yes, with Business Class there is a socket at the place in some companies, but it is usually a special socket for which one has to have an adapter. In British Airways, for example, you can insert the plug of the car cable.

There are some airlines. If you want to know it for a specific type of airline, you can http://www.seatguru.com look. There it is also described whether and when what sockets are available.

depending on how the aircraft is equipped, it already has plugs. However, you can assume that for safety reasons it is maximally designed to charge a handy or operate a laptop. 2 amperes or something, if at all… after all, the airline for the operation of the socket a.) has to carry a very heavy converter, which eats on every mile of fuel, just for being on board, and he also has to endure a very strict maintenance interval. for this, there are increased requirements for the quality of the current it generates. high-frequency effects as they cause rectifiers of laptops and handylade devices also need to be suppressed… not to mention that the turbine must also supply the additional power…

a simple calculation example. in an A380 there are over 850 passengers. if now each 3rd of them has a laptop, we say 1 ampere operates at 230 volts. then this would already be more than 280 amperes (good 63 KW) alone the additional weight of distribution systems and copper lines would already make up a central bank car… not to mention the more loads of the turbines

Depends on the equipment. The first class has almost always a socket, the other classes arrive on the airline and which seats they have installed. In Economy Class the seats can also have sockets (seat has been designed for business), but they are almost never connected.

The aircraft works with 28V DC battery buffered for emergency systems, radios and the most important instruments and 115V/200V three-phase current with 400Hz (slot 230V/400V with 50Hz as our power grid) from the generators in the turbines.

In order for the voltage and frequency to fit and thus plugged-in devices to not interfere with the aircraft electronics, a converter is needed and it has only a limited power, so you cannot simply provide 230V or 110V to every passenger and anywhere in the aircraft!

I think the first class has something like that, I mean. In the meantime, I think there’s even internet connection. No longer flew…

In some aircraft (larger machines on long distances), there are actually sockets, especially. In Business Class.
