I've read that apple cider vinegar, kimchi, or fermented vegetables are supposed to help with heartburn because they stimulate and neutralize stomach acid. Isn't that a contradiction? How can it be stimulated and neutralized, and why do acidic foods neutralize stomach acid in the first place?

I have an appointment with a neurologist/psychiatrist on Tuesday because of problems with a medication. Can I also discuss my suspected tendonitis there? Does wrist pain fall at least partly into the realm of neurology? Or does it have nothing to do with it at all?
