Are red spots normal after intercourse?

Hey, the question is less about sex and more about foreplay. I've had a boyfriend for a while now and during foreplay he kisses me gently and then faster on the neck/chest area. I shower after every time I have sex. But now these weird pimples have developed in those areas (red swellings that I can't squeeze out (see picture). I've tried to "clean" them with warm water and a towel, but that doesn't work. Is it my boyfriend's fault? Does my boyfriend perhaps have herpes? And the pimples aren't going away, even after a few days without sex. Does anyone have any idea what this is from or have experience with it?

It is important to note that it is not sucking, but normal kissing (so it cannot be hickeys)
