Apple tree – where is the grafting point?
Hi everyone, I was just about to plant my first apple tree for my uncle and I'm wondering where the grafting point is? That part at the bottom is part of the root, right? Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out anything from the photos online, as I can't find any where a small root piece is growing from the trunk. What exactly is that? Thank you 🙂
Glass roots, depending on the base, coming in opposite directions.
The finishing site is image centered where the 2 different colors of the bark are …
The place is where the trunk makes such a slight bend and, on the first photo, the color is somewhat different.
Thank you, I thought so. Then he’s so sure not buried deep enough, is he? I couldn’t dig a deeper hole through the soil condition. Could I buy some earth around the trunk, or is it as it is now, safe?
And another question: the trunk has several small “bone” from which root hair protrudes (as can be seen in the photo). What is this and is it problematic that they are not buried?
Yes, these are the top root approaches. Even if it's a lot of work, you should dig him out again. He needs a deep planting hole. That's too shallow. It does not survive a dry summer or winter.
No just hugging doesn't mean you can't do it well.
Hello weedol,
the finishing place is where you can see the grass on the picture, so if you would draw a line there. It is where the upper half has the color dark brown and the lower half is light brown.
I hope I could help you with this and you understand my explanation love greetings Rosalie
