Apple pencil no longer charges?

I have a 1st-generation Apple Pencil and a 9th-generation iPad. I'm trying to charge my Apple Pencil, but nothing happens. For example, the pencil has 5% charge when I plug it into the iPad, and nothing happens. But as soon as I plug it into something else, like an iPhone or a power outlet, the pencil starts charging again. As soon as the pencil reaches 30%, it also starts charging again on the iPad.

Both devices are as good as new, I have had the iPad for a month and the Apple Pencil for 2-3 weeks

The iPad 9. Generation has not been produced since May. You have a shopkeeper or a used one. In both cases, the battery could have suffered under the long storage period or the use of the previous owner.

On the other hand, I have the same hardware combination (iPad for 3 years, Pencil for over 1 year) and no problems with charging. No matter how low the battery of the devices is.

Maybe reconnect the Pencil to the iPad.
