Apple iPhone?

Apple is constantly releasing new iPhone models onto the market! How long do you use an iPhone before replacing it with a "new" device? Does it always have to be the newest/most current model, or are you happy with older models (as long as Apple keeps providing updates)?

This is what all smartphone manufacturers do. Quite simply because new devices have to be sold again and again to generate profits and to provide shareholders.

This is neither technically nor ecologically sensible and necessary.

I only bought used devices for almost 6 years (smartphone, tablet and smartwatch) and only a new smartphone 2 years ago. In any case, I will use it for 1 year if not for 2 years. I’ll also let the battery change if it’s going to work.

As long as a device gets updates of the operating system, you don’t need to replace it.

As long as the smartphone works, I don’t see any reason to buy a new one.

For the first time, this does not only Apple, but virtually every technology company brings out updates of its products every year, so it just runs up to date in business.

I always use my Iphone for the two years. It’s just because my contracts always go 2 years. After that, a new contract will get the latest one again because: “why not?”. My little sister can always look forward to an upgrade for her mobile phone for Christmas.
