This question does not make any sense. An API key is like the name reveals a key. Each key includes a lock.

A key without an associated lock is completely useless.

The first question is what you want to “open” with an API key.

You get the key from the website operator for which you need the API key.

You don’t write what page it is, so no one can tell you who runs the site.

What should a public API be in the context?

API is a programming interface. So an interface that allows you to communicate with the program in the background.

So if you need an API for your website, you should program it. I’m sure you mean something else!
