Apple is so shiny but why?
I had an apple lying around in my room that I'll eat sometime when I feel like eating apples. The apple has a kind of shine to it, and I've noticed that some apples always have that shine. They have a kind of shine and feel like wax.
Is it even healthy to eat it when it's so shiny and why is that?
We also have some apples that aren't as shiny. Strange. Why is this one shiny and feels so waxy, but others don't? Is it still edible?
Hello,
In Germany, apples are not grown artificially. But there should be those from other countries that were waxed. I mean, that should be marked.
In most cases, however, the wax layer is produced in the case of smooth-shell varieties by itself during storage. In most cases, the wax layer is not yet formed directly after the harvest and is produced during storage.
Here’s something to do:

They will also be awake, at least I heard of it so that they will shine beautifully. They’re supposed to be flushed. Whether this is really the case, I can’t say, but it speaks very well because it feels that way. Well, no one has harmed it. 🙂
Some apples are waxed, then they shine especially. However, you can also “polate” some normal and completely untreated apples from the tree because they have a natural wax type on the shell that shines as soon as you rub them off with a soft cloth. This is your own protection from animals, germs, water etc.
On most apples is a thin wax layer. That’s normal
