They completely discredit it and say that it is not poetry. and maybe it's not poetry in the sense that it doesn't rhyme and so on, But she definitely has a knack for expressing thoughts, feelings, and insights in a beautiful way.
A poem can be “compare” badly. You need another work to compare. You should also know both works sufficiently well to compare them.
Otherwise, it’s like saying, “Night, it’s colder than outside.” The “compares” but terms from completely different meanings.
