Antique box found in the garden years ago, any information?

Years ago (10-9 years old) I dug a hole in the garden purely on impulse. I was very young back then. I wanted to find a treasure and you won't believe it. After about half an hour of digging I came across something hard. At first I assumed it was a root, but then I realized it was a bag. On it was some text with cocoa and a picture of cocoa beans (I probably no longer have it).

Inside was this small box filled with coins from various European countries (Spain, etc.), which I unfortunately no longer have. So now I'm wondering what kind of box it is? What year is it from? (The coins would have shed more light on this, but as I said, I no longer have them.) Who made it, who could have owned it, and why would they have buried it there?

Thanks to everyone who can contribute a little to help me.

Looks powerfully clean inside for it that it should have been lying under the earth forever

I think it’s a very old cigar box

Could have buried a child with his “estimates” in the garden and you found it randomly.

Could be a cigarette or cigar box. In the 70/80s I saw such similar boxes in tobacco shops. It has probably been made Chinaware or somewhere inexpensive. But ask yourself in a well-stocked tobacco business.

Since the interior is covered with wood, I tap a box for cigars or possibly. Tea.

The text about cocoa would have the answer.
