Answer "yes" to non-yes-no questions?

Good morning,

Lately, especially on the internet and especially in comments on YouTube of Deichkind videos, I've seen the following question: How many costumes do you need for the video? Deichkind: Yes

This is just an example of someone answering a question with yes, even though it's not a yes-no question. As I said, I've read it a lot and find it really funny, so I'm wondering if some kind of trend has slipped past me? Where does this come from? I'd be interested to know. 🙂

PS: Don't answer with yes now… 😉 😀

Yes, I noticed this for the first time in a review for the millionth Fast and Furios.

How much action do you want in the movie?

Yes!

But I immediately noticed that there’s a current gag in there.

Of course, I (old) applied it immediately. ( desperate attempt to look young.)

Of course, the answering person is stupid, but there’s the joke. (Although – it is usually put in the mouth of a person in a fictitious conversation.)

Jo is a trend. That means in your example that the person needs a lot of costumes.

An answer that shows why the Pisa study has been so miserable. Brain switching on is impossible.

If you mean

whether there is any trend past me

Missing with the No before the answer I thought that the sentence clearly expressed it.

So it’s not a trend
