How do I get to the sea from Hannover?

An IC departs from Hannover to Hamburg. There the change to a regional railway to Lübeck takes place and there another one to the train to Fehmarn-Burg. Bus trip to the beach: After a short walk of six minutes, take the bus to the Kurzentrum Castle, which takes 14 minutes. Then you’re right on the beach.

Hanover?

No matter where you are in Hanover, the next green oasis is just a few meters away! The Steinhuder Meer, the largest lake in Lower Saxony, is also just a stone’s throw away from the capital of the country.

Simply select larger places by the sea and let them pass through with the DB, think of the setting “only local transport”.

Grobe direction will be a train for you to Hamburg or Bremen. From there we go on.

Bremerhaven, Cuxhaven, Eckernförderung Bay, Travemünde bei Lübeck, Kiel, Sylt, Fehmarn,… There are many possibilities where it could then go.
