Afraid of dying under general anesthesia because of smoking weed?

Guys, I have a huge problem.

I was just in the hospital because I have an abscess in my jaw/dental joint. It needs to be surgically removed under general anesthesia. The doctor told me we have an appointment for me on Friday at 8 a.m.

My problem is: If I'd known that something like this would be done under general anesthesia, I wouldn't have smoked weed every day for the past few weeks. I've now read that it can be really dangerous. I told the doctor I smoked weed, but not every day.
Guys, I'm really scared.
Do you think I'll survive this?

MFG 😀

You won’t die!

In the case of permanent cannabis use, more anesthetic agents are usually required, i.e. the anesthesia is adapted accordingly. In addition, you will be monitored by the anesthetist throughout the entire surgery. After the surgery, you enter the wake-up room where your vital parameters are monitored. Don’t use cannabis until surgery.

Did you talk to the anesthetist?

Happy for you!

It’s not a drama.

There’s nothing going to happen, don’t worry.

Now you’re not getting to surgery anymore, and then everything’s okay.

You will not die, but consumption can significantly affect the necessary dose for general anesthesia I have heard. So better talk honestly to the doctor.

You just have to tell the anaesthetist honestly, then he can dose the medication correctly or is prepared for complications.

Talk to your doctor that he knows that you get the anesthesia more easily, as the anesthesia are opioids.

Well, I hope you’ll let your fingers off that shit. But don’t worry, you don’t die.
