Afraid of the gynecologist?
Hello, I (15) have my second gynecologist appointment soon, and I'm almost more scared than I was before the first. At my first appointment, the examination was performed on a chair, and it was extremely uncomfortable and painful. Now I'm afraid it will hurt again and feel awkward and strange when she puts her finger inside me. I generally have respect for/fear of doctors, and I still feel a sense of shame when I go to the gynecologist. Does anyone have any tips for overcoming this fear or being more relaxed during the examination? Please only serious answers.

If you’re not relaxed, it hurts that’s clear. You could learn different breathing techniques or relaxation exercises that you can then immediately apply to the chair again because only if you are relaxed does it not hurt.
It may also be possible to contain fear if you know that only if you can relax the investigation is not painful. Take a crumb ball or something to transfer all your tension to it.
