Blackbird family suddenly dead?

About a week ago, I found a blackbird nest in our tree on the terrace. At first, there was one egg inside, and about every two days, another one appeared 😁. I kept checking the nest. Yesterday, the fourth egg appeared. Over the days, I've seen the mother sitting in the nest every now and then. I never saw the father, though. When I looked in the nest this afternoon, there was nothing left inside. No four eggs, no mother… I checked the camera and saw that a cat had sneaked through the driveway, through the garden, and then onto the terrace at midnight. I didn't see on the camera whether it was at the nest, though 😭. The tree was about 1 meter tall. Could it be because I accidentally touched the mother the day before? I didn't see any feathers or anything else on the ground, though. Do you know what happened to the family? 😢

With me in the area, it’s mostly raven birds that amsule and their layings fall victim to.

Cats, squirrels, raccoons or marder don’t exist here. But in the spring, elders and crows are really taking other bird species to rob them their eggs and young animals.

I saved an amsel here in the court last minute from an eldest from which she was brutally attacked. Luckily, she was only slightly hurt and I then put her in a cardboard box for a few days to protect in my kitchen and splashed up again.

It was funny that her husband always came to the kitchen window and communicated with her. After I left them free again, both of them kept up close to me when I was in the court. They apparently really understood that I had protected them and were very suspicious after that.

Do you know what happened to the family? 😢

No. How can we know that?

It’s just guessing.

Please stay away from the nest in the future.

You generally don’t feed wild animals with your hands… I know it was a mistake, but anyway. You shouldn’t have gone so far.

Now it’s not to change.

I don’t know if this is the case with Amseln, but there are birds that put a substitute.

So maybe you’ll be able to welcome a new Amsel family soon…

…but hopefully only from afar!😉

If you’ve seen the cat before…

The nest can also have a small corpse removed when the old animals are out of the way

Cats don’t eat eggs.

There’s probably a raven or an eldest or a ferret.

Amseln must also learn where a hatch succeeds and where not.

Wild animals never disturb, just not in the breeding and setting time!

The anseldam can therefore be e.g. escaped.

Many animals are happy about eggs, they are very nutrient-rich!

It doesn’t reveal how to touch a roaring bird.

You wanted to drill in the nose, have you slipped off and slipped “out” into the nest? Or how do I imagine?

That’s just as bad. You don’t walk around a nest or a nest with young birds. You don’t do any “blowers.” It goes without saying.

There was a nest robber at work. Cat, or Marder.
