You wrote the text strangely, making it harder to understand.

But if you were on the bike path, then you did everything right. However, you're not allowed to go around pedestrians, even if they're standing in the bike path. You'll see them, so you have to raise your hand and reduce your speed. Generally, pedestrians on the bike path have to make way for you. If they don't, then the pedestrians are behaving improperly, but you still have to go around them carefully.

In the end, Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulations always applies.

That was cheeky of them!

Yesterday, I accidentally walked on the bike path, even with my headphones on and loud music playing. I honestly hadn't realized it was a bike path, and I was rudely told off by an elderly lady on a bike who wasn't passing. She had already rung her bell and made noise from a distance, but of course I didn't hear anything. – Oh well, my stupidity, I apologized. Your selfie artists should have apologized too.
