Stick with the book?
hey
I enjoy writing stories and have quite a few ideas, which I think are actually pretty good. However, I usually write about three chapters before something bothers me.
Most of the time I get writer's block, even though I still like the content, and then I usually become unmotivated, which is why I stop writing and eventually start a new story.
How can I stay engaged with a book? Finish one story before starting the next?
Personally, it always helps me write something else in between and when there are only 100 words.
It can help to get away from the problem and be productive. It doesn’t have to make sense, it can be used to see something else.
Also, it just helps me not write a few days or think big about it to distance yourself.
Sometimes it could also help someone else read about it and ask for feedback or tapps.
Sometimes it helps me to have the right music or the right video running (of course not if it distracts or disturbs you).
I think it’s something you have to try out and see yourself what helps best
In your description, a sentence comes up, which at least lets me know why you have the write blockade:
For me this sounds very strong: it must be perfect. In my imagination, it must, but somehow I don’t get it, so I don’t like to write on it anymore.
For the first time: Perfection is a Wischiwashi term. Perfection cannot really be defined. Like what?
Then: Sure, every story is somewhere “his baby”, and this “baby” is supposed to be nice. I can understand and understand everything.
But I ask you a question: Do you write for yourself or write because other people should read it?
In the first case, you are your own enemy and should learn to fight the inner censor, to silence it. I am almost convinced that he (the inner pig dog) With his “what you do is full doof” just want to give up and do nothing because nothing is convenient to do.
If you are writing for others, it doesn’t matter if you like a place/scene/scens/word or not. The reader decides whether or not he likes the place/scene/set/word. And you always have to expect that there are readers who do not find your style well. And you always have to count on the fact that there are readers who knock on your shoulder due to your style and say: Keep going! You’re rocking!
And another thing:
Doubts are modest. I know. But I also know that doubts eventually disappear. Mostly even after a very short time.
And they are even more rare when you try to strip off the self-imposed “perfectionism” like a T-shirt.
Good luck writing. Always remember: The universe consists of stories, not of atoms …;-)
Thank you, this really helps:)
I think if you have the right story, you’ll be alone and motivated.
Keep trying. Sometimes it just takes several approaches
As someone who also writes stories, I can say that it is not necessarily related. I personally do hard to write stories that I love about everything and love to write. Nevertheless, I always come to the point where I don’t have any motivation or even have no desire. Also, it can be good that something is not as you wish and that can be very frustrating.
