This is a typical German hunting bag knife with top protruding back locking.

Like this:

Such knives were actually made by all major, well-known Solinger manufacturers.

You can’t really appreciate age due to rust.

And yes, there are still a lot of riveted pocket knives made today, so that’s not an indication.

I have a knife that looks very similar from the shape, also with the mechanism for locking the blade, and also so riveted. This comes approximately from 1978 (I can’t say it exactly).

The handle shells are, however, black plastic – but the structure looks pretty much the same as your piece.

Maybe this link that I found on the fast will help you. My knife is that which is described here as by the VEB Sesta. But I also see there were other knives of this kind.

They are manufactured and sold so far.

I found that when I was looking for a picture of my knife. In outdoor shops the Swiss knives dominate, something else I didn’t have on the screen.

Behold, I was not far from there. Nice hunting knife. 😉

Rust-free Puma knives at least in the 60s. I know pictures with knives from the time when that was already stainless.

Rivets say nothing about the age of a pocket knife as riveting is still used in the corpus even today with high-quality pocket knives.

Even the look of the grip material says nothing about age and material for itself.

No one can actually say how old the knife is.
