Just so there are no misunderstandings…

You bought the car. Then you can still drive until it is registered. Any tickets then go to the previous holder in the worst case.

You bought a registered car and the old license plates of it… Don’t let it go!

You have a registered car and you still have old license plates… With 1 exception:

You reserved the license plate, have an EVB… then you can go to the registration office on the day of admission. The insurance should then be informed.

You can always use the old license plate nowadays, even if it’s from another city. That was changed.

This is only possible with a change of residence without a change of holder. You get a new license plate

What you write was last valid until 1993…

That’s not true. I live in Cologne, bought a car in Bonn and was asked at the registration office in Cologne whether I would like to retain the old Bonn label !

Of course not. The old license plate belongs to a completely different car.

With the approval of another one you must still drive theroretic, but assume that there is no longer any insurance cover and if only small things fit you have a fat problem. You may have to pay for everything from your own pocket if the insurance company in Regress takes what to do.

You should inform the seller of your registration date because it is sure that you will be waiting for the registration office.

for reasons of fairness, you shouldn’t use the car until it’s re-entered the ifs what fits.. from the number you don’t get out and that may cost a few thousands of

The license plate is not relevant! I still have many old license plates in the basement, they’re not too much to use!

The question is: is the car still registered??????????

If no, don’t go with it!

Even if the old car is still registered, the license plates cannot be used in the new car.
