Alternative internet access?
Hello,
I don't have DSL, cable, or fiber optics in my apartment. I've tested availability with the most common providers (O2, 1&1, Vodafone, Telekom, even Pyur and others!). So far, I've been getting internet through the O2 Homespot, but unfortunately, it doesn't work very well. Now the minimum contract period is finally up, and I need an alternative. I'm leaning toward the GigaCube. Since I'm willing to try everything, here's my question: Is there any alternative I can try that doesn't use 5G? My hopes are slim, but maybe someone knows something.
There are also two things in my apartment that I can't identify, even after a Google search. Does anyone know what they are and whether they might be related to a potential internet connection? Regarding the outlets, I mean the ones on the right side.
Thanks!
There are various providers for SatelliteDSL. It is then also possible to search specifically for the various comparison pages.
Hello,
You can pick up prepaid cards from the respective providers and see which mobile network is best with you and then decide which one you want to choose.
I've already read that your friends should come to you for speed tests with different providers. This is of course also a good alternative.
best regards
Danny
The double box could be an old ISDN connection or an internal LAN cabling.
As an alternative, there is Elan “Murks” Starlink Project for 50 euros a month.
This should work very well in Germany.
The router is a Genexis OCG 1018mx-V6 or OCG218 device for lightwave connection.
Then you even have the possibility to go to the internet via fiber.
Such a part is not installed if you have no fiber connection.
And the green LED says that there is even a technical connection.
However, the upper LED shows to the device is switched off.
Where are you? In Holland or Sweden? These routers are used.
German glass fibers also contain genexis.
I’m in Germany, more precisely in Saxony.
I haven’t seen them in Germany yet. But you always teach.
It is best to let friends with various mobile phone providers make speed test at you on site, I would take the provider at the highest speed. I also had to use LTE mobile and tripled the speed with an external antenna on the balcony.
Alternatively, Starlink.
DAs are RJ45 sockets that are used as standard for network cables.
The thing in the control cabinet looks like a functional router….
As if only a network cable would be necessary to have internet…
But just a network cable without a contract will not get me very far, will it? And since no contracts are offered to me…
Did you look at glass fibers? Better to ask the neighbor or landlord!
Ne, this is a media converter for a fiber optic connection.
Okay, is there any Internet coming out?
Reading helps sometimes. I did. Have a nice day.
I’ll never understand why you don’t just ask your neighbors.
I have entered the houses on the left and right for a fun time, because cable and DSL should be at least no problem. But I’ll wait for what the landlord says.
I find it strange, but I can’t change it now. Both portals have already tried to show me only Starlink (and the 5G offers). I’m looking forward to what the landlord will say.
well, this is very strange, since no one has built up the technology and there should be no connections!!
Give your address to a comparison portal such as Verivox or
check24 one. You can see without directly asking a provider what is available at your address and can also make an application there.
I’d just ask who the glass cable belongs to. Other residents might know more. And it won’t be just your house, probably there’s the whole road, so there are many people you can ask.
I ask landlord as already written, and I have already written glass fibers in my question of origin, I am not offered to the providers.
Okay. Tips where I can still search? Starlink now generally ignored.
No, you just don’t seem to have found him.
Okay, so ask landlord and if he doesn’t know, I seem to have expanded everything functionally, but can’t use it because no provider provides his performance at my address 😅 Exciting! But thank you both first.
“feed the provider that has your dial-in data”
Right, you didn’t book anything, you didn’t have anything to feed.
Ask your landlord, maybe that’s in the rent
I’m sorry I have to ask so much again, but I can’t just join a router like that and then have internet miraculously? I need a contract I don’t get 🤔
Normally as with any other internet connection, you connect your router, feed the one with your dial-in data from the booked provider and then the Internet comes out.
