Alte Windows LichtSteuerung retten?
Ich habe eine alte Windows XP Lichtsteuerung.
Die Steuerung funktioniert perfekt nur macht der PC und das Programm mittlerweile Probleme (Abstürze und sehr langsam)
Lüfter nachgerüstet, CPU und Ram sind für die Verhältnisse eher schnell.
Gerne würde ich diese aber noch etwas weiterverwenden (neue Offerten 5-stellig)
Verbaut ist eine Steuerungsplatte, welche es heute sogar noch zu kaufen gibt.
(ADDI-DATA GmbH APCI-2032) diese ist über das Motherboard eingesteckt (wie eine Grafikkarte)
Wenn ich nun also die alte Festplatte kopiere und ein Motherboard finde welches mit dem ADDI DATA kompatibel ist, könnte mein Programm auch noch mit neuer Hardware funktionieren? Oder erkennt die neue Hardware das Programm nicht? Leider ist der Programmierer verstorben und wir können keine Änderungen mehr vornehmen.
Funktioniert eine neue Hardware überhaupt mit Windows XP?

Newer hardware does not run Windows XP or if then only as a piece by hand. In your case, I would rather go over QEMU + KVM, set a VM with Windows XP/7 and pass the card via PCIe passthrough.
Alternatively, you can purchase any older Dell Optiplex or similar, insert the card and then run Windows XP/7 over it. If I got the right data sheet, upgrade to Windows 7 should also be possible.
Please check if this is your PCI card (no matter what). If that’s the case, I would use Windows 7. If this doesn’t work out, even on Windows 7 install the XP mode to do it, it can try.
However, I would prefer QEMU + KVM and set Linux as a host system. It has the advantage that you can also use significantly newer hardware. The drivers then run in the VM (Windows XP, Windows 7 or whatever).
