Es gibt doch viele von denen die das nicht können hat mir mal ein Fachmann gesagt.
Stimmt das und warum ist das so?

There are certainly some autists who can. I am very convinced.
But it takes longer for many of us, as some of us have problems with coarse and/or fine motors. This can also include cycling.
For example, I’ve never really learned to ride bicycles and it’s not because it scares me, is uncomfortable, I’m taking too much attention on me (My social phobia doesn’t like that) and I don’t get much of my surroundings anymore, which would bother me very much.
Also in the primary school, when we were to make our bicycle guide, I could only be dragged by axle and noise and many protests on my side on a bicycle with support wheels. Fun looked different. I was afraid and it was, I don’t know, motor-just terrible. I’ve been on a bike for over 10 years or so.
The best friend of my 13-year-old son is autist and does not ride a bike. He can do that, but he’s been falling down once, since he’s no longer afraid that this could happen again. He also does not eat foods he does not know, not so much because of their consistency, but because he is afraid that they cannot taste him, he has already had negative experiences in this regard and has since been very careful. He also has smaller motor problems, but it seems above all this strong negative memory that prevents him from driving bicycle.
Some autists find it difficult to enter the pedals at the same time, to keep the same weight and then to steer it.
I didn’t get it as a child.
In later adult life, I tried again.
However, one-handed driving was never possible.
I don’t know what it looks like with cycling now – haven’t been driving for years.

Some People with an autistic “interruption” have rather no great motor problems or even deficits and, like my younger brother and others, already quite “early” cycling (as well as possibly numerous more complex swimming styles or the like), but of course not “all”.
That’s the name.
No – a bicycle expert (think, this is the case here), is not a specialist in autism.
I think that was a joke. An autist prefers to drive a car than a bicycle, as the name says.
