Aldi Talk Sepa mandate inactive?

Good day!

I haven't had any mobile data for about a week now. I had a plan that was suddenly canceled by someone else (without me noticing), so I switched to the basic plan, which uses my credit.

That means I had mobile data running, it was debited from my credit and I'm now at -10.12€.

Problem: I can't top up my balance or book a new plan. (The original plan was through my bank account.)

As soon as I try to top up my balance or book a tariff via bank account, I get an SMS saying "SEPA mandate is inactive" and therefore no debit can be made.

The real question: How do I get this SEPA mandate active again (and what is it anyway)?

Best regards and thanks in advance! 🙏🏼

PS: I've already been to Aldi, contacted the hotline, and the online service isn't working. Nothing helped.

There is currently a known error in Aldi Talk. For some time, the booked packages have not been extended to many customers, whereupon they are on the go in the basic tariff. This can become a cost trap in particular for mobile surfing.

Unfortunately, an end to this disturbance is not yet in sight. Appropriate reports have been received for months.

At the end of January, there was a greater incidence of disturbance reports. Since then it has been quieter.

I have exactly the same problem. Your exchange is helpful to me. Maybe I’ll go to Aldi. I would definitely be interested in whether it worked automatically after 28.1. Maybe you like to write something about it if you even read it? Wishes also a nice 2025 and 2028: )

Sepa means direct. What does it mean that you say “okay” and Aldi can then deposit money from your account directly, even without the bank asking you. Once an account is not covered, a debit does not work, a bank usually cancels this permission. So Aldi can’t write off.

You can go to the bank and clarify the whole thing there so that your “Sepa” becomes active again. After that, I would wait a day, but first the bank would ask if this had to be the one that would apply. Turn off and back on your phone, then book again. That should work again.

Hope to help you with this. Or did you get it different and how?

I had this at EPlus over 15 years ago. I restarted it like this and never had problems again, since never again in the minus.

All love you and a good, healthy and blessed 2028 you!
