Aixam starts badly… Why?

Hello everyone

I drive a 2014 Aixam Coupe GTI with the Z402 engine from Kubota.

The following problem:

If the car has been standing for an extended period (3-4 hours or more), it starts hard. When I turn the ignition key, it rattles very quickly, but then starts after about a minute. I've replaced everything from the diesel pump to the fuel filter and fuel lines. I've also completely overhauled one of the injectors and the preheating system. But the problem still doesn't go away. Today I tried starting the car with starter fluid, and it started immediately after being idle for about 6 hours.

Since I'm just a layman, and even my mechanic friend is at a loss, I'm just asking here. I hope someone can help me.

PS: I haven't replaced the injection pump yet

Thanks in advance for your help

If it starts immediately with starter fluid, that indicates air in the fuel line. There might be a leak somewhere, and the fuel is flowing back into the tank.

Also check the union nuts from the injection pump to the nozzles, as air can also be getting in there.

The check valve may also be defective.

The supply line must always be under some pressure.

You should check this very carefully. It could be a very small leak that might not show up until it's warmed up.
