Airplanes fly vertically downwards?

Yesterday and today, I noticed several planes flying very steeply downwards. When I saw the first one, I was worried it might crash. But then I noticed another one coming from across the street, also flying in the same direction. It would be a coincidence if two had crashed at the same time. I didn't hear anything about a crash on the news either.

This morning I noticed another such plane and just now one that was flying vertically downwards, practically at a 90% angle to the ground.

Does anyone know what kind of planes these are?

(Please no answers from conspiracy theorists who say these are rocket attacks, because that can't be true.)

This could be a semi-trailer who does a show or practice it. I saw something like this the other day at a feast.

It could have been parabolic flights. These are made to give the inmates the impression of weightlessness for a few seconds.

I don’t think that would look like that – parabolic flights usually fall through their height very slowly (viewed from the ground perception). They are positioned as far as I know also horizontally

that can be sports aircraft or military aircraft. They’re very memorable.
