Afraid to ask my doctor about cannabis?
or a neurologist. I have multiple sclerosis and am only in my early 20s. I take strong (non-opioid) painkillers for pain, but otherwise, I have nothing directly related to all my pain and discomfort. My other medications have no effect on it.
So, now I really think cannabis is an option, or, for example, Sativex, which was specifically developed for MS. It's a THC-CBD spray. It's also no longer a narcotic. And I don't have to get high on the galaxy…
I am also chronically ill and it is proven but still controversial whether it is so effective for multiple sclerosis…hm
My neurologist is a bit older, and I'm very young and chronically ill. But I don't seem to be that restricted (yet). I'm more worried that he'll react negatively and think I'm trying to abuse it…this chemical pain medication stuff is okay, but it's really not that great at the end of the day when cannabis is much better at calming and relieving pain, in my opinion.
I don't have any contacts, and I can't grow cannabis myself.
How should I proceed? Should I just accept it? Should I not ask? I've read stories where the doctor angrily kicked the patient out of the practice because of such a cannabis question.
You can also talk to your family doctor if the neurologist reacts stupidly (so I don't mean he doesn't write you any cannabis, but patty answers or untruths), change it.
LG.
Stand up for you! The doctor is there for the patient and the question of medical cannabis is more than justified in your case!
