Adverbial determination of time – Or?

1) We celebrated at the festival.

  • This is about the duration.
  • Question: When did we celebrate? -> At the festival

2) I ate at the wedding.

  • Here we should also focus on the length of time.
  • Question: When did we celebrate? -> At the party.

Is this correct or not?

You’re asking “what?” but it’s less about time/duration than the occasion. “When?” means “What opportunity?”

That doesn’t say time, you ask, where did we celebrate? On the festival!
