An adjective is not a case, because adjectives refer to nouns.

The “very nice” refers to “fast”, not to the verb”. Thus “fast” is an adjective. You can test this if you translate it into English, the – ly – form indicates adverbs. The car is really quick.-Thr car goes really fast.(where there are also in English a few forms like almost, which one does not consider whether it is adjective or adverb, but at 90 percent already)
