Adenovirus in a 1-year-old child?

Hello 🙋🏼‍♀️

I have another question

Our child had a sudden increase in temperature and then rose to 39.5 ibu juice did not help

were then in the clinic where the adenovirus was diagnosed

he has “big ears” and very big tonsils

You can probably only treat symptoms with alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol

Does anyone have experience with this and can give us tips on what might help him?

He is suffering so much and in this weather such a high fever is not exactly great

Thank you in advance for your answers ☺️

For thick almonds you can suck ice or a lot of cold, which feels pleasant.

Otherwise, you sleep a lot with fever and then you get better. Without fever, children are often fit and that is not good, they have to rest to become healthy.

At 39.5° I usually don’t give a fever-lowering means because the temperature is inherently dangerous, but on the contrary rather helpful in recovery. Besides my child, no water or tea will drink for a long time. Then I may give Paracetamol.

Waden wraps always help very well and are usually pleasant for the child. My children always sleep a lot when the fever is high. If I reduce the fever medicamentally, they begin to become active, which usually does not contribute to recovery.

In general, you can’t do much but rest, drink, light food, wait.

Good improvement!
