Activity after work?
I urgently need a new activity to replace my current unhealthy activity. It must cover the following points:
Something I can do after a long day of walking and standing, so nothing strenuous for the body and/or brain.
Something that can be done quickly and without much effort. Without having to prepare anything, without turning anything on, and that can be stopped and put away immediately. Because, unfortunately, with my limited free time, many things aren't easily possible.
Something to distract me from my sad loneliness. Because when I'm home alone, I don't tend to do anything nice. So nothing to do with friends, relationships, or family, because it's precisely this lack of those that I need to find distraction from!
Any tip is very welcome!
The most sensible thing would be something that brings social contacts. Say, for example, look at what is offered in your time slots in the local sports club.
Typical solitary activities would be reading, puzzeling, painting, crocheting, knitting, training at home.
The biggest problem is that I basically only have good one and a half hours. Of course, so social things are great for one like me, but if time is missing… I could actually try reading it again!
How about writing diary? Whether the end of the day, or in between, is best when you feel lonely again. You can write down all your thoughts, grief, etc. In fact, it also frees the brain. Otherwise, you can try with light sports like Hula Hoop (all go) and make music you like. Now, if the mood rises, it helped me. Buying best with large diameter and initially you need some time to get out. If you have a garden, go out. Build up a deck chair and read/plant something. It’s nice weather right now. And to get in touch with other people, you can try to exchange yourself online.
Hope etw could help you. This alone also has not necessarily only bad, because you can deal with yourself a lot & so much about yourself.
Thanks for all the great ideas. I have actually done diary several times, but I have always stopped because I never really find time for it and I can write something, then on my reviews. The problem is that after work I prefer to just walk in bed because I’m just going and standing…
Of course you are exhausted after everyday life, I can only understand. But it doesn’t mean taking a book, whether diary or novel, etc. into bed:) maybe call someone, get old acquaintances or family, magazines with puzzles. You’ll find something.
So it shouldn’t be on books, because I still have three/four original welded in here. Library also sounds cool but in my area there is no one, and after 6 hours it will not look so good, huh?
And it should be books that are also exciting and captivating, you are interested because otherwise I let the book go more often in front of you. You can already make a book consultation or similar, or as some have written after work directly into the library, which has the advantage for social contacts in turn. Sometimes you just have to overcome
If you can’t remember the content correctly, I’d start from the beginning. Depending on how much remains in the head and in this chapter, or ascend at the beginning.
Speaking of reading… Almost a year ago I started reading a book, but I think I’ve only come up halfway, maybe a little more. How can I get back in there? Read again where I last stopped or some chapters back, etc?
I think I try reading and/or crossword puzzles. I really like to do them too! I just hope that this will distract me in the long term and enough.
Draw! Pencil (The best printing pencil with mienes), erasing gum, paper – and you are fully equipped.
Whether you’re good or not doesn’t matter. You will be better if you really stay on the ball and at least serve a negotiable quarter hour a day.
And you can cancel, continue, restart, and after some time you will have something to look back on.
I like to draw, but only if I have some time. The one-and-a-half hours after work, unfortunately, are a bit too short for this and I also lack motivation and the necessary head. But thanks for the answer!
You’re trying to justify every proposal with too little time, then your priorities are wrong! Try it as I told you: a quarter hour a day, no more, no less, but go through JEDEN (!) day. Best to point with an alarm clock! For a quarter of an hour, you can definitely give up at 1.5 hours, no doubt!
would have had a bicycle chain;) I don’t mind. And the “Challenge” looks like paper and pencil, so also your (many used) excuse that it would take forever to start not really.
Anyway, I can’t do more for you, because the first step is that you will be aware of what you really want and look for reasons – so far I only read from your side a storm of defenses to maintain the intangible circumstances. You don’t really WILLST, even if you say so.
You’re probably right. Because I can’t really keep something every day. That’s not what my lifestyle is. I also draw mainly on a tablet with laptop, which is why it takes forever to draw. If I had a vacation, I would make your challenge easy!
You say you have 1.5 hours available in any case. I’m sure you could really go through these 1.5 hours a day not even for a week. And then, on 7.7.2023, you can stop the project again, but look good at what you did.
I understand you, but I like to give myself stuff all the way, you know? I usually don’t want to stop, but just when I do something so short, I’ll get angry again that I have too little time! Do you understand what I mean? There’s something cool that doesn’t require so much attention if I can say so.
walk right after work and feed squirrels in the park.
go right after work to swim and just turn a few rounds.
go directly after work into the city library and read newspaper
immediately after work to the cinema and gently fall asleep at a blockbuster
Unfortunately, I’m under time pressure because I’m driving by train. I’m at home at 8 and can’t do much… :/ Are all good ideas!
That’s why I’d do things practically on the way home.
do not even go home,
chilly swimming is a perfect balance
I understand what you mean I think, but after work, I’m so dead that I just want to sit… Eight hours just stand and go with one.
all the activities so that you make them right after work that I mean.
maybe you can expand your radius with a bike
So you mean when I get out of the train and go home or what? I’m going there for 30 minutes.
Play chess or learn it.
Chess has irritated me more often, but then I always remember that chess alone is kind of stupid… But not a bad idea!
Poodles.
Puzzeln is already quite cool and I really like to do, but I can’t buy new puzzles all the time. And always just building one will eventually fad…
Yes, that is the essence of a hobbies that it costs constant money.
I understand you, however, I would have to buy a new one every week, because, without getting too brunette, I’m actually a rather tasty puzzler! I also need space.
