Acrylic vs oil paint?
Are there any visual differences between the two colors?
Are there any visual differences between the two colors?
I painted a canvas with acrylic paint. Now I'm waiting for it to dry. Then I'll write a saying on it. What color looks best on dry red acrylic, and which pen should I use? Then I'll add photos. Can I use regular glue or photo glue or something else?
I was told "2 days so the color lasts well." Now I'm wondering: Would 3 days be even better for the color and my slightly irritated scalp?
I want to start a larger crochet project tomorrow and plan to crochet a blanket out of granny squares. How many grams of yarn should I plan on using? I'm not sure yet whether I'd prefer a bedspread or a medium-sized blanket. So what would be the gram weight for both types?
What do you think of my picture and do you have any suggestions for improvement?
Yes. You can mix oil colors with different means, so they act as similar to acrylic, but in principle I would say:
Oil colours are intense/lighting
Acrylic is a little weaker
But before all, they have different properties that affect what is possible in the optics:
Oil dries much more slowly, so that you can create much more accurate “perfect” color patterns with oil, depending on which they are more transparent, which is good for layer painting, etc.
Basically, it is easier to make more with oil colors, but with acrylic paint is much easier to paint as much as the effort, health risk, preparation, storage etc., and to paint acrylic for certain types works just as well as oil, but much faster dry. Oil has an extra plus point in some people because oil has a lot of tradition, Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Picasso have all painted with oil.
So it depends on what you want to do
Oil paints I find more beautiful because they are more opaque and dry more slowly. You can create wonderful color transitions by blinding the colors.
They also have a wonderful shine and a very high luminosity.
Good luck!
I give up the opinion of the artists I studied, who I was allowed to get to know: In acrylic, the nose is stirred; the diletters who have no idea. Whoever keeps it, sniffs the oil tank for a lifetime and waits… waits for drying. But he’s holding something up.
Acrylic seems more plastic. But oil colours are more intense. I’d say.
That’s not true. Acrylic does not work plastic
Funny only that Van Gogh painted so extremely plastic with oil – laugh.
Oil colours are generally more high-quality. Also more versatile!
I have been painting in oil for almost 50 years
Thinking You better look at landscape coloring in oil colors? And does this have more texture than acrylic colors?
This has nothing to do with the texture.
It has something to do with color intensity, lightfastness, mallability and so on.
Thank you for the detailed answer!!
