Accordion doesn't make a sound?

Hi, I bought an accordion on eBay. A Hohner Verdi II.

The basses work great, but the other keys don't make any sound when I play, except for the two lowest notes. The others only make very quiet, airy sounds, and then only when the bellows are wound up. It's almost as if you're playing while holding down the air button the whole time.

Since I'm a complete beginner, I have no idea what's going on. Maybe someone here knows?

It is very unlikely that all voice tongues hang. That's why I think the register switch is broken. I see on google that it's 3 words. It thus has 3 sets of tuning tongues which are combined differently by the register keys. For this purpose, slides are pushed on and on which the registers lock or open. As you describe it, there is something out there and all the registers are on "to". I'm sure you've tried all the registers.

I myself would open the accordion in such a case (the lid with the grid goes off relatively easily, as any pins have to be pulled out, then it goes off) and look at how it works. Maybe this is also a case for the accordion farmer.

Supplement: " Almost as if you were playing when you press the button for the air all the time. " – maybe the air button is jamming and is really permanently open?

First of all, it's never a good idea to buy any instrument on classifieds as inexperienced beginners. You don't know what you have to look for, and then often nothing gets good.

What are you doing with the accordion? If you want to learn, you'll need a teacher anyway, who might help you with your problem. Maybe everything's wrong with the technology?
Otherwise, turn to a music shop or a workshop that will certainly help.
