Accidentally looked at the sun (harmful)?

Hello,

I once read that you shouldn't look at the sun (risk of blindness!). Since then, I've been afraid/worried about even looking in the direction of the sun.

And just now, I accidentally glanced at the sun for a short time (about 1-2 seconds). The sun was already a bit lower in the sky; it was about 5:30 pm I had to look in that direction to know if a car was coming or not.

Could this have caused damage?

Other questions I generally ask myself:

Would you notice if a light source, such as the sun, is too bright and therefore damaging your eyes?

Does pain always occur in the eye when something causes damage? And is it already too late, or is the pain a kind of warning?

Should you consciously make sure not to look towards the sun or would you automatically look away if the sun is too bright?

So I've done this before and didn't take any damage. You have to look into the very strong sun for a long time to get hurt. If then it would probably hurt in your eyes and you might not see anything for a short time or even be blind for ever.I hope I could help you. Many greetings and beautiful evenings.

This is absolutely bullshit because you only wear damage after 1-2 min, and also you do not blind it, but you see a big black spot
