But how do I tell my parents about the Bundeswehr?

Well, I've always wanted to join the Bundeswehr and I know I'm a girl and it's way too early to think about it and so on, but my parents don't know that, but we're doing a compulsory internship and I really want to do it with the Bundeswehr and so on and I know that it's unlikely that I'll get a place but I want to try, but my parents don't know anything about it and I don't know how to tell them.

Bundeswehr doesn’t mean you’re going to war. For the first time, you have to make a military service, and if it’s over, you can do it if you like it. You can also sell it to your parents as a career springboard. After all, you can start training there. Many professional groups need those, some of them only have to do with fighting in the distant sense. You can do something in the hospital, something with computer technology, music corps and and and. Only the fewest soldiers are foot folks or control tanks or something.

Just say it. Also had Bundeswehr practice. Nothing bad. You can assure your parents that you do not land in a war zone as an intern – whatever.

Prepare them by telling about the importance of a Bundeswehr. Watch the reaction. Find arguments for the Bundeswehr. At some point, you can tell them you want to be a part of them.

I wouldn’t say anything until you got the commitment to the internship. At the most you mention that you have applied to all possible companies and organizations, I would not even mention the BW.

Go for it! Whether males or females don’t care.
