When do I need a truck driving license for a pick-up?

Hi, I'm considering purchasing the "new" Ford F150 Raptor R. My question is, do I need a C license to drive this vehicle, or is a "standard" B license sufficient? And is there a difference between the truck and car registrations? Would I be allowed to drive the vehicle with a "B" license as a truck?

Thanks in advance!

If this weighs more 3.5 tons, it’ll be fine.

Up to 3.5 t = B

3.5 – 7.5 t = C1

> 7.5 t = C

Unfortunately, most of the answers here are at least misleading. > 3,5t Total permissible mass (see papers) or soon. also more than in https://www.adac.de/verkehr/rund-um-den-fuehrerschein/fuehrerscheinaenderungen-2024/#class-b-weight limit described, you need a truck driver license.

With the B-guide ticket you can drive every two-track car up to 3500 kg. Does it matter whether it is approved as a truck or as a car? Only intentionally, on Sundays and holidays, trucks must not pull trailers, regardless of weight!

Over 3500 kg hold a C-guide certificate.

Whether longer or wider is no matter. Only the maximum permissible total weight is the same as 3,5 t .

I don’t know the orange lights.

You’ll spend $100,000 on a car.

Without knowing if you have the required driving licence at all?

Reliable information in the vehicle data

And it still makes differences with the approval as a truck/car.

If the vehicle meets the requirement for registration as a truck, this is noticeable at the KFZ control.
